The Altivar 61 Series: A More In-Depth Look

altivar 61

The Altivar 61 series is a family of variable speed drives for synchronous and asynchronous motors designed for state-of-the-art applications in heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC). These drives can help reduce operating costs in industrial and commercial buildings by optimizing energy consumption. Also referred to as Altivar VFD (Variable-Frequency Drives), the Altivar 61 drives extend across a range of motor power rankings from 0.75 kW to 630 kW and have three different types of power supply:

  • 200 to 240 Volt 3-Phase 0.75 kW to 90 kW UL Type 1/IP20 (ATV61H***M3, ATV61H***M3X)
  • 380 to 480 Volt 3-Phase 0.75 kW to 630 kW UL Type 1/IP20 (ATV61H***N4)
  • 380 to 480 Volt 3-Phase 0.75 kW to 90 kW UL Typle 12/IP54 (ATV61W***N4, ATV61W***N4C)

Graphic Display Terminal – VW3A1101

This convenient, easy-to-use feature is optional for low-power drives but is a standard component on high-power drives. The navigation button provides a fast and simple way of accessing the drop-down menus. The graphic screen displays 8 lines of 24 characters of plain text. The user has the option to customize the display screens, menus and parameters. Drives with a “Z” at the end indicate that the drive does not include a Graphic Display Terminal. One example would be the ATV61HD30N4Z drive, which is ATV61HD30N4 without the keypad. In addition to Altivar 61, the VW3A1101 is compatible with the following Altivar Series: 312, 312 Solar, 71, 32, 212, Lift, 61Q and 71Q.
