The Control Techniques Drive Module SP6402 is a high-performance and versatile drive suitable for a wide range of applications. It is available in two versions: normal duty and heavy-duty, each with different maximum continuous output currents, peak currents, and nominal and motor powers. The drive directly controls the speed of the motor using the feedback device to ensure the rotor speed is exactly as demanded, and the motor flux is accurately controlled at all times to provide full torque down to zero speed.

Servo mode is designed for use with permanent magnet brushless motors with a feedback device installed. The drive directly controls the speed of the motor using the feedback device to ensure the rotor speed is exactly as demanded, and flux control is not required because the motor is self-excited by the permanent magnets that form part of the rotor. Absolute position information is required from the feedback device to ensure the output voltage is accurately matched to the back EMF of the motor. Full torque is available down to zero speed.

Finally, regen mode is a regenerative mode that allows the drive to generate electricity from the kinetic energy of the load when it is decelerating, and feed it back into the power supply. This can help to reduce energy consumption and costs, as well as improve the efficiency of the system.
